CREATIVE GROUP "ART-HOTYN"
AT THE CROSSROADS OF SCHOOLS
"In the art of saying something new,
only someone who is sufficiently ignorant can
not to know that everything has already been said"
(Gabriel Laub)
The artists of the Art-Hotyn creative group are not looking for a black cat in a dark room and are not trying to reinvent the wheel. Having absorbed the traditions of the best Ukrainian art schools: Odesa and Lviv artists work in the direction of figurative art in Bukovyna. The synthesis of these schools creates a unique color, saturation of images and depth of content in the paintings of artists.
The creative group "Art-Hotyn" is a bright representative of modern art, created in 2010. Each of the artists - Mykhailo Kyrylenko, his son Ivan Kyrylenko and Valentina Kozyar - are self-sufficient creators who together form an interesting phenomenon in the art of Bukovyna.
Mykhailo Kyrylenko and Valentina Kozyar, having graduated from the Odessa Pedagogical Institute, absorbed the traditions of South Russian impressionism and the elegance characteristic of the Odessa school, which is manifested in the artists' painstaking work on the image, careful selection of coloristic nuances and compositional solutions. They continued their creative journey in Bukovyna, where the Lviv school had a significant influence on artists. The bright decorative qualities of painting characteristic of it are present in the works of artists, and the compositional basis of the works is based on realistic tendencies. In the paintings of Mykhailo Kyrylenka, monumental forms, pure and bright colors prevail. The characteristic features of Mykhailo Hryhorovych's painting are a wonderful sense of measure and tact in conveying the real and symbolic in forms that imperceptibly transform and flow on the canvas, stimulating the imagination to understand and supplement them by the viewer himself. In his works, the master rethinks the themes of Ukrainian folklore, depicts mythical creatures, characters from literary works and legends. On the canvases of the artist, the depicted character is the center of the composition. The background is a decorative colored panel that crumbles during the formation of the story image. The figures are built in accordance with the proportions of the human body. Modeling of planes is quite rough, straight, clear shapes dominate. The color solution is based on a contrasting combination of colors. All this creates incredible images, each of which evokes a variety of emotions in the viewer: a feeling of the warmth of the sun's rays and the goodness that envelops everything around (the paintings "Prayer", "Bird of Happiness", "Autumn Chord", "Melody of the Mountains"), a romantic mood , a sense of mystery and hope ("Morning dreams", "Panna")).
The youngest representative of the group, Ivan Kyrylenko, in his work remained faithful to the traditions and principles inherited from his father. But unlike Mykhailo Hryhorovych, Ivan's painting is delicate and fragile. The compositions are dynamic, full of movement and emotions. Ivan's works are distinguished by their freshness and ease of perception. In his works, the artist turns to sensual themes that do not leave the viewer indifferent (the paintings "Lyric Sounds", "Molfar", "In the Moonlight", "Vaska's Cat", "Fern Flower").
Valentina Kozyar is the heart and active member of the group. Her teacher Mykhailo Kyrylenko had a significant influence on the creative path of the artist. Her works are characterized by bold color solutions, mysterious images and exquisite compositions. The image and background can change places, one or another part of the background can join the image, forming a new version of the image. The color solution is based, first of all, on the ratio of tones and halftones. The works reflect reality through the prism of the artist's thoughts and feelings. At the same time, the lack of specificity in the images attracts the viewer to the completion of the image of the work, through their own feelings, thoughts and emotions (Works "To the Shores of Good Hope", "Invisible Connection", "Autumn Rendezvous", "Premonition of Spring", "Melody of One Note ", "Inspiration and others). The images create the illusion of portraying unknown characters, addressed to us by our own reflections, it serves as a kind of mirror of the viewer's inner world. The perception of painting is determined by the richness of the associative visual series, first of all, by the experience of "contemplation" of works of art.
The creativity of the "Art-Hotyn" group reflects the characteristic features of painting of the Odesa and Lviv schools in combination with the color of Bukovyna and the worldview of each of the artists, which flows into a unique artistic language in modern art. The paintings of Bukovyna artists take us on a journey among characters and things that, while still retaining their external form, are already changing into something else, not figurative, abstract.
Artists adequately represent Ukrainian contemporary art at any level, which is evidenced by the large number of exhibitions of the creative group, both in Ukraine and abroad.

"OUT OF TIME"
Painting, sculpture
Museum-workshop of I.P. Kavaleridze, Andriivskyi Uzviz 21
Creating an image is the basis of any creativity that claims to be called art. The creative project "Out of Time" is an instant choice between true and false, black and white, satiated slumber and restlessness of creative search. But if only to know what is right: to go right or turn left, so that like a fairy-tale hero, not only not to lose the horse and one's life, but also to gain the dream. True creativity begins only when it is full of life experience, wisdom, and spirituality. This is especially true of the artists of the creative group "Art-Hotyn", for whom "giving" means, "to create", and "to create" means to live.
The creative group "Art-Hotyn" is a bright representative of modern art, created in 2010. Each of the artists - Mykhailo Kyrylenko, his son Ivan Kyrylenko, Valentina Kozyar and the sculptor Ivan Klyapetura - are self-sufficient creators who together form an interesting phenomenon in the art of Bukovyna . At different times, after graduating from the art and graphic department of the Odessa Pedagogical Institute, they absorbed the best traditions of impressionism and the elegance characteristic of the Odessa school. Mykhailo Kyrylenko, the founder of the first art school in Khotyn, creates his paintings with heart and soul, his painting is full of experiences and emotions, does not leave anyone indifferent. His son Ivan Kyrylenko and Valentina Kozyar are worthy recipients of his work. At different times, they all continued their creative path in Bukovina, where the Lviv school had a significant influence on artists. United by a common vision, they created a creative group that successfully presents his creative projects in Ukraine and abroad.
The artists of the creative group "Art-Hotyn" are creators of images: immediate and mysterious, they address the inner, spiritual state of a person with its multifaceted nature. The project "Out of Time" conveys not specific objects to the viewer, the artists are interested in a more complex task - to catch the elusive", the moment of transition from one state to another, more precisely - the feeling of metamorphosis. The sculptural works of Ivan Klyapetura serve as a certain tuning fork that gives a special tonality to the project. Simple materials in the skillful hands of the master become sophisticated works, acquire a unique form, come to life and make you think The creative project "Out of Time" turns from a simple material existence into a spiritual one. Ironically, art itself proves our continuity on this earth, with their project the artists claim that true human values are "out of time", just like true creativity.
Artists' works are in private collections, museums in Ukraine and abroad.

"Unrevealed secrets"
painting
It is sincerity that gives the pictures character,
which makes them like a protest whereas
the artist was only trying to express his feelings. "
Edouard Manet
Creativity is a way of meditation, a transmission of spiritual experience that accumulates throughout life. The "Unrevealed Mysteries" project is a way of learning, where the artists of Bukovyna search for answers to such simple and eternal life questions with their creative works. It is a journey to the horizon, a creative journey where you ask questions and look for answers... The works of artists, like a living being - equations with many unknowns. The works of artists are understandable, but at the same time complex in their philosophy, ignited by a secret spark, combining in an incomprehensible way, they gain the ability to exist, feel, think. A flat weave of multi-colored colors captivates, separates a moment from the flow of time, fills the soul with emotions , desires and feelings. Interest in existence in all its manifestations determines the phenomenon of true art - the work becomes a bridge of communication, meeting the viewer from the outside and the view of the world from the middle of the canvas. Following the path of individual preferences, Bukovyna artists are able to convey the entire gamut of the environment through their personal vision. Their self-sufficiency acquires in painting features of symbolic images. That is probably why the external plot line of p gives way to the internal dialogue of feelings.
The creative group "Art-Hotyn" belongs to the galaxy of innovative artists. The mystery of their thinking, the original way of conveying the essence of things, the connection of the present and the past, this is what distinguishes and unites the artists of Bukovyna. The creative group, created in 2010, united creativity artists - Valentina Kozyar, Mykhailo and Ivan Kyrylenko. In a short period of time, the group declared itself a great creative asset. Valentina Kozyar, Mykhailo Kyrylenko and Ivan Kyrylenko are participants of All-Ukrainian and international art festivals, symposia exhibitions. Mykhailo Kyrylenko studied at the Faculty of Art and Graphics ODPI, Odesa, in 1971, is one of the founders of the first art school in Bukovina, in Khotyn. Worthy students and admirers of his work are his son Ivan Kyrylenko and Valentina Kozyar. Valentina Kozyar received her higher art education in 1984 at the art and graphic school faculty of OGPI, Odesa. Ivan Kyrylenko received an art education at the Vyzhnytskyi College of Decorative and Applied Arts and then continued his studies at Chernivtsi University named after Fedkovych.
Good painting is like good music, where one note, one sound is nothing, but the intuitively found sequence and ratio of notes and sounds create its harmony. That is why, communicating with the paintings of the artists of the creative group "Art-Khotyn", it is impossible to remain indifferent, the only way is to surrender to emotions and immerse yourself in their living "civilization of color".
